The fifth edition of “Food for Thought” the poetry in fashion experience (F.F.T 2017) set for
July 27, 2017, The Poetry B.L.O.C vows to evolve the consciousness and souls of the patrons of the night, with its heaven sent staple event, where Trendy Fabric is stitched with the Tread of Poetry in an extravaganza entitled “FOOD FOR THOUGHT – “Trend, Thread and Terrific Food” “. Food for thought will be held at the Redbones Café, 1 Argyle Road, Kingston 5. Once again will define Redbones Cafe as a global arts capital, be it Fashion or Cuisine or Poetry while also serving as a platform to promote and support emerging talents from around the Island.
After initiating the patrons in novelty, five times in a row Poetry B.L.O.C have decided to innovate by fusing the Creative expressions; TRENDY FABRIC ART, TERRIFIC COOKING and TREAD POETRY. Authentic Jamaican “FASHIONISTAS” in collaboration with some of Jamaica’s most celebrated “WORDSMITHS” are set to create a night that will be the envy of other events.
Poetic pieces to be performed will include the enigmatic works of Poetry B.L.O.C, the authors of the Amazon bestseller “The Art of Poetry” and “Birth”; “Lalibella Payne”, the sister Abbe Payne, the granddaughter of Oku Onuora and the Master of Ceremonies at University of Technology Poetry Society. “Chereese Lavonne“, In 2015, Chereese was recognized by the Governor-General of Jamaica as a recipient of the Governor-General Achievement Award for Excellence and is Redbones reining champion. “KnoJa”, a renowned underground roots/dub/Reggae king with a heap of surprises; “Kacy Garvey”, She is a renown poet, currently working on a second album, “Water Jar”, for release in 2017, “Wise Wurdz”, Amaziyah the Great and Shivaun Rufus .
The audience of the night will experience the ambiance of the Jazz & Blues themed Caribbean Fusion Cuisine Cafe, as they are entranced with dramatic and dynamic interactions between performances. Patrons will be awed, when the eye-catching designs of the new Fashion sensation Ascenderet Designs, raises their eyebrows, while the captivating, poetic prose, plays on their perspective, and raises their IQ. Their host will be no other Twins of Twins, who is no stranger to enticing a crowd. With less than two months to go before curtain call, organizing is well on its way to producing the masterpiece that is “Food for Thought“.
