Friday, May 20th ($800), 9:00pm Japanese Jazz pianist Kayo Yoshida will be performing Contemporary Jazz with Belgian Gerd Beyns (Harmonica), Jeremy Ashbourne (Drums) and Dwayne Livingston (Bass).
Kayo Yoshida was born in Japan and started taking piano lessons at age three. After studying classical music at the University of Music in Japan, she decided to move to the United States to continue her studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She graduated in Jazz Piano with a Performance Major, while also studying Jazz composition and contemporary music arrangement. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles to explore her musical career. Kayo has been performing in festivals, concerts, hotels and Jazz clubs in the US for over 10 years. Since November 2015 she has been a lecturer at the School of Music / Edna Manley Collage of the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica.
