The Naloxone (NARCAN) and Opioid Overdose Training course will teach you how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone.
Naloxone is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose and is proven to be safe, effective, and easy to use.
CU Denver's Public Health Response and Emergency Management Division are collaborating to share with you the information and resources needed to reduce harm caused by opioids. This training will not only benefit our students, staff and faculty, but also our friends, families and campus visitors.
In this one-hour free training we aim to:
Inform you about the opioid crisisFamiliarize you on the different types of opioids Spread awareness about harm reductionProvide information about Naloxone and campus resourcesDemonstrate how recognize an overdose and how to save a life using NaloxoneWe hope that you will leave this class with the knowledge and resources to help fight the opioid epidemic.
There are only 20 spots available, so we encourage you to register now.
*Please be advised, that by attending this training you are NOT obligated to use naloxone in case of an emergency. At a minimum, this course can show you what a typical overdose looks like, misinformation about those who use drugs or opioids, and when to call 911.
