About this event
To celebrate Earth Month, The Shelborne South Beach has partnered with Clean Miami Beach for a beach cleanup on Saturday, April 16th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 21st Street and 2100 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.
This event will help encourage Miami Beach locals to work daily to keep the city’s beaches clear of trash, with the larger goal of saving our world's oceans and landscape. Clean Miami Beach strives to protect Miami Beach and its marine wildlife. The organization’s mission is to keep the community away from harmful pollutants and to provide a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and of course, wildlife.
The day will include giveaways such as retail swag from MITA Sustainable Eyewear and healthy bites by Pura Vida, and a raffle with a one night stay at The Shelborne South Beach located in the heart of South Beach’s Art Deco District. Winners of the hotel raffle are invited to enjoy their stay relaxing at the iconic oceanfront pool with indoor cabanas and the private beach club that grants them access to white sandy beaches.
Clean Miami Beach will provide a refill station for reusable water bottles, as plastic water bottles are prohibited and a large part of the littering problem. Sanitary garden gloves, buckets and pickers are all provided, but guests are able to bring their own if preferred. All ages are welcome and community service hours are available for participants. Guests are encouraged to use a ride-share service or bike to the beach cleanup as parking is limited. Additional parking can be found in the parking garage located at 334 23rd Street, Miami Beach.
Only 100 slots are available, so make sure to RSVP on Instagram @cleanmiamibeach. Close-toed shoes and reef-safe sun protection are recommended.
