The Bob Marley Foundation and the Rita Marley Foundation in collaboration with the Institute of Caribbean Studies at the UWI, Mona, present the Africa Unite Youth Symposium 2014. Africa Unite is held annually as a part of the celebrations to commemorate the earth-day of the Hon. Robert Nesta Marley OM (Bob Marley).
The Symposium will be devoted to presentations and arguments which discuss the urgent call for African Unification. All deliberations will take place at the Multifunctional Rm. University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

The Symposium has previously been held in Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa and Jamaica. It seeks to give the youth an opportunity to come together to identify, discuss and create realistic solutions to challenges and issues that impact and affect themselves, environment, countries and the world. Its specific goals are the following:
· Strengthen the work and the will of our people to secure a peaceful future. · Explore solutions to the devastating commercialization of our culture and history · Discuss and provide realistic solutions to negative events and challenges that impact the youth, their environment, countries and the world. · Demonstrate the universality of Bob Marley’s lyrics. · Empower the youth through increased knowledge and experience.
The Africa Unite Youth Symposium will be held on Thursday, February, 13, 2014 at 9:00am at the Multifunction Room in the UWI Mona Main Library. It promises to be an exciting experience as it features a number of enthralling presentations including a cultural presentation by Bongo Herman and a screening of the "Africa Unite" documentary.
