The School programme will end at 5:00 p.m. 250 Art Students in grades 10-12 & 50 Art Teachers will be invited to participate in this event that features a CSEC Teacher workshop, entertainment package, voting for the Viewers’ Vote Prize, Exhibition viewing and an Artist Talk with four of Jamaica’s artists who will also showcase a few of their works in a mini-exhibition for the day. In addition, four schools will get a chance to participate in Artylympics – an Olympics-inspired series of art games/challenges. The schools will compete for an in-kind prize valued at J$100,000 for their art department. Artist Talk Panel – Schools’ Art Day Out, December 12

Target: 200 art students, grades 10-12 & 50 CSEC/CAPE Art teachers

The aim of the Talk is to discuss the panellists’ journeys and experiences in their art careers and to convey through these experiences to the youngsters present, what is required to ‘make’ it as an artist. A question and answer segment with the audience will form part of the talk. Panellists will display three works each for the day.
