The 2nd staging of the Kingston City Run presents a weekend of pure adrenalin and fun incorporating two race events: A ½ Marathon 5K race/walk. The weekend kicks off on Friday with a Welcome Carnival Party hosted by Bacchanal Jamaica at Mas Camp. Saturday will feature a Health Fair and Expo. Saturday evening pre-race party. Visitors are encouraged to get out and explore Kingston’s great dining venues and night spots with the locals.
Race Day is Sunday morning and will incorporate a Mascot Run. As in 2013, a great focus will be placed on community spirit, encouraging communities to line the streets to support the runners and provide unique and interesting activities for spectators. The After party and awards ceremony will be hosted in Emancipation Park right after the race. The route received rave reviews in 2013 and highlights Kingston’s most iconic attractions including Emancipation Park, Devon House, Hope Botanical Gardens, Bob Marley Museum, Vale Royal, Jamaica House and Kings House to name a few. The route will start at picturesque Emancipation Park located on Knutsford Boulevard. The race route will take athletes not only pass but through some of these attractions like the famous Devon House. The Devon House Mansion is truly magnificent and is noted in the recently published National Geographic: Food Journeys of a Lifetime: 500 Extraordinary Places to Eat Around the Globe as the fourth-best place in the world to eat ice cream.
