Located in the neighborhood of Wildey, Saint Michael, the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, also known as the "Wildey Gym," is a government-owned indoor sporting facility in Barbados. It is part of the Sir Gary Sobers Sports Complex and has a seating capacity of nearly 5,000 people.
The Gymnasium is a popular venue for student, professional, and charity sporting events in addition to hosting entertainment shows, song contests, and bodybuilding events. It is also home to badminton, volleyball, and basketball competitions. The Sir Gary Sobers Sports Complex, where the Gymnasium is located, also includes tennis courts and an Aquatic Centre.
The Wildey Gymnasium was completed in November 1992 and has undergone two refurbishments, one in 2005 and the other in 2017, sponsored by the Chinese government. However, in June 2017, a fire broke out on the site during renovation construction in some debris and refuse outside the main building.
Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, and Sports, the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex is a significant sporting facility in Barbados.
