Sausage Showdown is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the public to sample the house recipes of local wild game meat processors. Attendees have the opportunity to compare some of the best processors side-by-side while enjoying cold beer on tap and live music at the city’s finest German beer garden. Wild Game processors from the San Antonio and neighboring areas gather to serve their house sausage recipes and compete for the titles of “Best in Category” and “Overall Winner”. Each attendee is given tickets to vote for the People’s Choice Award in each of the five categories: Dry Sausage, Link Sausage, Summer Sausage/Salami, Jerky, and an open category. In addition to the People’s Choice Awards, a judges panel also selects their favorites in each category. The processor with the most combined votes across all categories is crowned the “Grand Master of Sausage”. Proceeds from the event will benefit City Kids Adventures and the Stewards of the Wild San Antonio Chapter. The event is fun for the whole family and we’re looking forward to hosting a crowd from around the city this year. Attendees do not need to be members to attend and all ages are welcome. Tickets are for sale to non-members for $20. Kids under 13 get in free.
